Paulina + João Adventure into the Enchanting Chilean Patagonia for an Intimate Vow Exchange

If Fate had ears, she must have heard Paulina and João tell each other on their first date of their dreams of traveling to the end of the world. As their love story unfolded from a speakeasy in Chicago to a proposal on the shore of Lake Michigan, these two were destined for an adventurous wedding in the mountains of South America.

Both Paulina and João have traveled to dozens of countries around the world, and they knew they needed something spectacular for their special day. “The thought of planning a big traditional wedding didn’t excite us, and was not something that we ever desired in life. The idea of traveling somewhere incredible to make our union symbolically official in an intimate setting felt so fitting for both of us,” Paulina shared.

With a velvety bouquet of everlasting flowers, a stunning and simple dress by BHLDN, and of course a pair of hiking shoes, Paulina approached João for a first look on the rocky shores of a turquoise lake. As the low clouds unwrapped the mountains, the couple hiked to an overlook and exchanged vows in streams of low, afternoon sunlight. The wind moved in and out, adding dynamic layers to the day (and to their outfits… nothing says “adventure elopement” like beanies and bowties!).

With dramatic mountains and winding trails as their witnesses, João beamed with joy as they ran hand in hand down a dirt road. The adventurous couple celebrated their reinvigorated love for one another atop a rocky overlook and shared a bubbly cheers. The perfect day was entirely their own– wild, free, and fiercely in love at the end of the world.
