I love photographing High School Seniors! Today’s post features Kylie Powers’ summer photo session at the South Mesa Trailhead. She is a 12th grader at Broomfield High School – Class of 2020! Due to school being canceled, she won’t have an official graduation ceremony this year, but we still want to commemorate her achievement!

We found a location that matched her personal style perfectly and agreed on natural-looking makeup that would enhance – and not detract from – her beauty.

Celebrate Who You Are

Kylie blew me away, and three outfits were more than enough to capture her personality. She was, undoubtedly, in her element during this session. The South Mesa Trailhead in Colorado makes the perfect location for a senior who loves to roam free in nature. She is all smiles, and extremely easy to work with. This 6th year student at Grace Studios (Broomfield) has been dancing for 10 years, and I loved the movement and energy she brought to the photoshoot!

Kylie is determined to work on what she is passionate about, so she is considering taking a year off in 2021 to continue dancing. However, she has not made up her mind yet, so she might also enroll in the University of Colorado Boulder as a BFA. The dance program is designed to provide a well-rounded education in choreography, performance and production.

This session was all about movement and simplicity. In Colorado, there is beauty at every turn awaiting to be captured. I spent time walking and laughing with Kylie, enjoying the gorgeous light Mother Nature provided us with that day. Working with teenage girls is something I definitely enjoy, and I am grateful beyond words to have the opportunity to get to know them and learn from them every day.
