Be Intentional with your budget
Be authentic during your wedding day
Break all the rules in a way that’s 100% your own
Helping adventurous souls celebrate their day —their way— is my favorite thing.
Weddings can be fairytale events. As a former traditional wedding photographer in Colorado, I know they can also burn a hole in your bank account, cause a downpour of anxiety, and stir up family drama. Let’s face it: Big weddings are more of a performance than an experience. They’re not about a “just the two of us” celebration at all. When you’re focused on hosting an event, you dedicate a lot less attention to actually living the moment with genuine intention.
Over the years, photographing countless couples in the Mile-High City, I began to see first-hand that eloping takes the pressure off and lets you actually experience your big day with greater intention. That mindfulness doesn’t just mean you’ll enjoy your elopement more in the moment—it also means you’ll remember the event in detail for years to come.
So a few years ago, I decided to say adios to big weddings and began intentionally working only with couples who wanted to adventure with me to magical ski towns like Crested Butte and Breckenridge; the majestic Rocky Mountains; or neighboring Utah for the dramatic red rocks of Moab and Canyonlands. My portfolio reinforces that this was the perfect shift for me (and my happy clients)!
If exchanging your vows on a pristine mountaintop sounds more your style, this Colorado elopement guide is for you!
Check out the gallery of one of my all-time favorite all-day elopements, including the most romantic alpine lake canoe ride!
Consider eloping in Chile for the adventure of a lifetime. This native Chilean photographer is now booking elopements in Patagonia in 2025 + 2026!
See why this charming, rustic mountain town is my absolute favorite place to work as an elopement photographer.
“We couldn’t be happier with the incredible work done by Andrea on our wedding day. She expertly captured every special moment, turning them into timeless memories. Her attention to detail and artistic vision truly set her apart. The entire experience was seamless, from the initial consultation to the final delivery of photos. We wholeheartedly recommend Andrea Enger to anyone seeking a talented and professional photographer to capture their Micro Wedding or Elopement!
She was crucial in keeping us organized and on track, offering invaluable assistance that felt like having a wedding planner with specialized knowledge of the Crested Butte area.”
As your photographer, my work doesn’t begin and end behind the lens! I’m also here to:
Help you find the perfect location (breathtaking vistas, remote nature nooks, historic sites and more)
Take care of the details (permits, applications, timeline planning)
Help research wedding dress styles (AKA can you hike in that?)
Send you my Gear Guide so you’re prepared for any kind of weather or terrain
Set you up with trusted vendors (local hair + make up artists, florists, bakeries, venues, and more)
Suggest pre- and post-ceremony activity ideas (snowmobiling, anyone?)
Give you all the love and support you need as you design your special day(s)
● I strive to make you feel 100% comfortable before and on your big day. Ultimately, you’ll want to go with someone you feel ultra-comfortable around: someone who understands your aesthetic and someone who can capture all your best angles! This is why I take the time to really get to know you and your partner.
● I have quite a bit of experience! In the last decade I’ve photographed over 200 weddings of various sizes and styles. No two have been identical. Your day will be uniquely special and exactly what you’ve been dreaming of!
● I’ll guide you from the very start. I aim to make your elopement stress-free so you can focus on what’s important: marrying your best friend!
…because I’ve been there! My husband and I celebrated our love with a micro-wedding in 2010 beside a gorgeous, private lake. One of my besties got ordained and officiated the intimate ceremony, as we were surrounded by our families and a few close friends. Another best friend was our photographer. It was comfortable, laid back, and magical! And I wouldn’t have changed a single thing.
After experiencing my own intimate wedding, I knew immediately I wanted to help others do the same. Your photographer should feel like a friend—someone you’re completely comfortable with and trust to execute your vision.
I’m dedicated to capturing the raw, intimate, heartfelt, funny, and candid moments because I’ve been there! I absolutely cherish the photos from my wedding and it’s so important to me that you feel the same about yours.
As a woman of color, inclusivity has always been important to me. As a Latina photographer, I celebrate the diversity of all body shapes, sizes, and colors. I believe love is love and I abso-freaking-lutely support same-sex marriage.
I don’t tolerate racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, or xenophobia. If you don’t share these values, we probably won’t be a good fit... (But I hope we are!)
“It was amazing working with Andrea! We were sooo nervous planning and Andrea helped us through the whole process. Her calm and reassuring presence was what we needed to plan one of the biggest steps in our lives!
Our wedding day was a dreammm, all thanks to the wonderful locations Andrea picked that really captured what we wanted. Andrea was sooo patient and made sure everyone was comfortable while keeping such wonderful energy throughout the day.”
Before committing, let’s make sure we’re the perfect fit. After you reach out, we’ll book a call to discuss your story, your wedding ideas, and all the unique details that’ll make your day amazing. Once you say “I do” to working together, send me your preferred date and general location (Boulder, Denver, RMNP, Grand Lake, Breckenridge, etc.) so I can start digging into some good ideas. Don’t have an exact location picked out? That’s okay! I’ll give you all the resources you need to find the perfect spot.
Now comes the fun stuff! I’ll be right beside you for all the help you need. You can expect a customized list of beautiful locations and a list of qualified vendors nearby. All you need to do now is pick your favorite spot, kick back, and relax. If we need any permits, I’ll help you through that process (permits are required for most parks and nature areas).
Your big day is here!! Now it’s time to hike, dance, laugh, cry, eat, and enjoy. I'll be close by, documenting your story and creating your memories, so all you have to worry about is having as much fun as possible! Within a few days, I‘ll share a sneak peek of your photos (and your full gallery of images will follow just a couple of weeks later) so you can re-live the day and share photos with your loved ones.

“Andrea is sweet, attentive, motivated, talented and very prepared! She provides checklists, resources and advice to rely on for your big day! My elopement day was an absolute DREAM and I am so lucky to have had a photographer as attentive as Andrea. God Bless her!”
As an outdoor enthusiast, I’ve scouted countless locations all over Colorado. I know what time of day is best for light, how many people are likely to be there, and what kind of weather you can expect. I have an extensive guide to help you pick a location that works best for you and your partner. Here are just a few ideas:
Hike to a crystal blue alpine lake or steamy hot spring
Take a rugged Jeep tour through alpine forests
Trek to a spectacular waterfall, lake, mountain meadow, or overlook
Find a dramatic spot and capture the “golden hour” and “magic hour” just before and after sunrise or sunset
Try kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing
Enjoy stories and laughter around a campfire
If you're having trouble deciding on the right kind of adventure, we’ll sit down and explore the options together!
There’s just one question left.

I don't even know where to begin with how amazing Andrea was for our elopement project! When we had our first call with Andrea we had no idea where to begin and if she was up for our challenge—planning an elopement in less than 5 weeks. But she was game, and she was incredible!
We told her how important it was us to have quality time together and that we wanted our day filled with hiking. She helped us choose the most beautiful locations for pictures and our ceremony. She recommended vendors and restaurants. She was PREPARED! At 3:45 am when my husband and I were both feeling the altitude sickness she had ginger candy for us to suck on. At 5 am when I was freezing after first looks she had a pair of gloves and handwarmers for me to borrow. At the top of our hike in the middle of the afternoon when my husband drank the last of his water, she had a water bottle that could filter stream water ready for him to use.
Andrea is the trifecta—she can plan, she is prepared, and damn does she take some amazing photographs. I can't speak highly enough of Andrea—she is kind, genuine, and good at what she does. So if you're looking for a photographer and you've made it this far.... take the leap! And if this doesn't convince you, just take a look at the photos....
