Boulder Lifestyle Newborn Session

Arriving to the Hayes family home I was welcomed by Olivia, Steve, and their two beautiful daughters Violet and her newborn baby sister Indie...what cool names, right?  Violet helped pick Indie’s name :)

I was so entertained by two year old Violet...she was so curious and observant, just wanted to watch for the first fifteen minutes of the session.  After I gained her trust, she decided to join us. She was hilarious and very sweet with her baby sister!

Indie was so alert, sweet little girl, just fourteen days of life ready to take on the world.  Indie’s nursery was beautifully decorated with her name on the wall, handmade by her mom Olivia.  The time with them went so fast...she was just perfect with her tiny little toes and bright eyes. She was the boss and gave me just enough time to capture all the precious moments that will be documented forever.

The furry friends...the cats: Tonka (white), Zulu (black), and Oscar (calico).  Those guys were funny and super friendly, and of course very interested in my camera lens.  It made for great portraits...jumping up and down on the bed and trying to squeeze in the family portraits.

This was a special session for me, as this is the first time I have blogged about Newborn Lifestyle Photography.  I had no idea it would be so easy to find the words to communicate such deep feelings.

Motherhood has changed me, and I can’t help but feel connected on a very deep level when I see moms, dads, and siblings hugging, kissing, playing, and embracing a new baby in the house...a new chapter of their life.  

This is such a personal journey for each and every family that I meet, and I just feel humbled for the opportunity to witness and relive the haze of the newborn warmth!
